Why do yarns need to be waxed

Why is the yarn waxed? After sizing, the dried sizing is waxed immediately after leaving the drying room with the remaining heat to increase the smoothness and antistatic properties of the sizing. The waxing roller rotates slowly in the wax tank with a certain temperature and liquid level. The running sizing is dipped in wax liquid as it is dragged over the waxing rollers for surface waxing.

Yarn is waxed to allow hairiness to lie down on the yarn and at the same time increase production efficiency. It can also reduce hairiness to block pinholes and needle cylinders during the weaving process, resulting in rotten needles and other defects. The specific benefits are as follows:

1. Post-waxing processing is widely used in sizing of synthetic fiber filaments, which can prevent warp filaments from fluffing, unclear openings and sizing during weaving, and can also reduce the wear of healds and drop wires. Also suitable for sizing polyester-cotton blended yarns.

2. Improve economic efficiency: In the knitting process, wax is used as a yarn lubricant, thereby reducing the friction of some parts and reducing mechanical wear.

3. Improve product quality: The friction coefficient is reduced, the yarn tension is uniform, the yarn breakage rate is reduced, the weaving rate is increased, and the product quality is improved.

4. Promote environmental protection: use brand wax blocks to reduce flying flowers in the production workshop. Workers' operating environment has been greatly improved.

5. The water-soluble wax block can improve the hydrophilicity and antistatic ability of the yarn, and the dyeing and finishing effect is good.

6. Some wax blocks with special functions can effectively prevent the yellowing and mildew of waxed yarns.

Emulsifying wax is used as a sizing agent for yarn, because countless uniform and fine wax crystal particles are attached to the yarn, which significantly improves the softness and lubricity of the fabric, thus improving the quality of the fabric and the efficiency of the loom. In textile production, whether it is cotton textile or wool textile, especially in yarn-dyed production, the rational use of wax in each process has a very good effect on reducing end breakage, reducing weaving defects, improving cloth machine efficiency and physical quality.
